7 Best Ways to “Glass-up” Your Home

If you live in a city, you are probably well aware of just how much space costs. Many of us are limited to smaller apartments, smaller rooms and smaller yards as space is just so expensive. I can’t really give you advice on how to make your house larger; I can, however, advise you on how to use glass to make your house appear bigger, brighter and more beautiful.

Use Glass Balustrades for you Staircase
Remove any old wooden balustrades and replace them with frameless glass balustrades to modernise your staircase and create the illusion of more space.

Add a glass skylight
Some rooms may not be ideally designed for windows. Installing a skylight will ensure that natural light pours into the room during the day and stars glisten above your head at night.

Separate areas with glass
Whether you want to create a clear flow from the interior of your home to your outside patio, or you want to separate rooms within your home, use glass to create a chic, classy separation. Installing aluminium doors and windows will maximise the amount of “wall you can replace with glass”.

Add a glass table to a crowded room
You can replace a coffee, dining room table or side table with a glass table. This will make an area to appear less cluttered.

Use glass railings to ensure unobstructed views
If you have a beautiful balcony or patio view, don’t diminish the view with a bulky railing system. Opt for clear, chic glass to ensure that you have the best view all the time.

Install a glass floor

Glass floors can serve two purposes:
1. Let in light from lower levels
2. Extend design/décor from one room to another

Add glass kitchen cabinet doors
By doing this, you will not only conveniently see exactly where all your cutlery, utensils, pots, etc. are, but you can also inconspicuously show off some of your expensive china.
